PPFM (Pink Pigmented Facultative Methylotrophs) is a beneficial microbial biofertilizer and plant growth–promoting bacteria used in agriculture to enhance crop growth and productivity. It belongs to the fertilizer and biostimulant category and is not a pesticide, fungicide, or insecticide. PPFM does not kill insects or disease-causing organisms; instead, it supports plants by improving their natural physiological processes. These bacteria live naturally on plant leaf surfaces (phyllosphere) and around the root zone and utilize methanol released by plants during normal metabolic activity. By using this methanol, PPFM stimulates the production of essential plant growth hormones such as auxins (IAA), cytokinins, and gibberellins, which play a key role in cell division, elongation, and overall plant development.
